How do we create intimacy for a 135+ member congregation? Is it even possible? We will build on the concepts from the previous Sunday to explore how we create intimacy within our community.
Brene Brown suggests the anatomy of trust is built through BRAVING (Boundaries, Reliability, Accountability, Vault, Integrity, Non-Judgment, and Generosity). We will explore how this helps us create a space of intimacy for our joys and sorrows.
Each year we take notice of where we have fallen short of our own expectations and the expectations of others. This morning, we will use stones and ritual to do the work of forgiving of ourselves and others.
How does forgiveness work when harm has been done to a community? Who forgives and who apologizes? We will work through these questions as we explore the concept of communal forgiveness.
How do we intentionally enter into beloved community together? We will explore the communal act of being intentional and how that may shape our time together this year.
There is a history to the term Beloved Community. This morning, we will explore the history as well as learn what it could mean for us to become a part of the Beloved Community
We will join together on this Sunday to share our stories of hope and sorrow that touched us during the summer. Please bring water from a meaningful place to share in our communal bowl.
On Aug 3-7, Rev Laura joined other faith leaders to support the humanitarian work of the organization, No More Deaths/No Mas Muertes. She had the opportunity to observe Operation Streamline, the immigration court system. This morning, she will share her reflections of what she encountered and observed.
We will explore together the concepts of peace, liberty, and justice. In our exploration, we will try to find where they are present and where they are lacking.
