Wild Things! Summer Day Camp


Cascade Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is a liberal faith community in East Wenatchee. Wild Things! Summer Day Camp is affiliated with CUUF, and you can learn more about the principles we follow by clicking here. You do not need to be a member of CUUF to participate in the summer camp. Camp is for children entering 1st grade through 5th grade.

Wild Things! Summer Day Camp operates Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Snacks will be provided.

Session 1, July 3-7 (no camp July 4)   $135, siblings of registered campers $125
Fairy Tales, Fairies and Elves!
What are the differences and similarities between the original Grimm’s fairy tales and the Disney adaptations? We’ll be writing our own fairy tales, as well as learning about the mythology around creatures like dragons, fairies and elves, building fairy and elf houses!

Session 2, July 10-14   $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
What’s YOUR Superpower?
Who is your favorite superhero? We’ll be learning about Superheroes, comics, and you can make your own Superhero cape, superhero name and of course a superpower you pick!

Session 3, July 17-21   $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
Hogwarts Camp!
Do you long to be a wizard or a witch? Make potions, cast spells and participate in our very own Hogwarts class! Come immerse yourself in all things Harry Potter for a week!

Session 4, July 24-28   $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
Time Travel!
Wanna make a time machine? Let’s do it! And every day we will “visit” a different historical era and learn about what it was really like to travel west on the wagon train, or live in a castle in the middle ages! You get to help pick the times we “travel” to!

Session 5, July 31-Aug 4  $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
Clowning around!
Join us and listen to stories and engage in activities about the circus, clowns and circus performing, and circus animals. We’ll be face painting, making masks, and learning some tumbling, and more! (Possible field trip, TBA)

Bridging Cultures!
Let’s learn about our histories and traditions! We will have some guests come in to share about different cultures and customs in our valley, and we can participate in activities that have roots in many cultures including art, music and stories!

Pirates and Mermaids!
Dressing up and making costumes are only part of this week’s fun!  We’ll learn about real pirates, the lore of the mermaid and and make a pirate ship!

Session 8, Aug 20-25  $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
Bugs, Insects and Bees, Oh My!
Why are some people afraid of bugs, beetles and spiders? Let’s learn more about them and also butterflies, bees, and why bees are so important to us!  We’ll learn about what it means to be a beekeeper, and taste some honey fresh from the hive!

Session 9, Aug 28-Sept 1  $165, Siblings of registered campers $150
I REALLY love Science!
The cosmos, geology, chemistry, botany and biology…let’s do some science!  Simple experiments, observation and results will show that science is part of nearly everything we do, and it’s FUN!

Sessions will include art, science, music, and/or literature incorporated into each week’s theme. Campers will have ample unstructured time daily for water play, wheels, swimming and outdoor games. Walks to the river will be frequent throughout the week.

Session 1  $135
Sessions 2-9  $165 each
Sibling discount $125 for session 1 and $150 for 2-9.
Payment in full is required to save your child’s spot. Limited scholarships available.
Limited to 15 participants per week.
One T-shirt  per child is included. T-shirt is 100% cotton. Extra apparel is separate, see Registration form for costs.
