Believing
Cascade UU Fellowship
Cascade UU Fellowship was founded in 1985. The Fellowship was created from a need to find a community based in liberal thought and religious exploration for all ages. It continues to be a place where each person is encouraged to search for their own truth and meaning. We do not believe in a unifying dogma or creed. Instead, we build our community through covenant. Our important question is not what do you believe, but rather, how do we be in community with people of differing beliefs?
The covenant is built on the understanding we are imperfect and we need to actively work on relationship with each other. This includes communication, forgiveness, and a willingness to be challenged at times.
Unitarian Universalism
Cascade UU Fellowship is a member congregation in the Unitarian Universalist Association. Unitarian Universalism emerged in 1961 as the consolidation of two centuries-old religions that originated in Europe. Unitarianism affirms the unity, the oneness, of God, man and the universe; Universalism says that everyone has access to truth and perfection, with no need for a personal savior. UU is a liberal religion that does not require adherence to a certain creed, but accepts many paths for finding truth and meaning.
