From our use of words, personal observations or our own actions – what we believe to be true, may ultimately embrace narrowed perceptions. In our bearing witness to truth, we must open ourselves to the possibility of alternative points of view being equally true.
We are in a time of transition and transformation. We are excited to see a future and a legacy for our Fellowship. This morning, we will hear personal testimonies and celebrate the legacy we want to create.
We will put our values in action this morning and engage in activities to benefit communities beyond our walls. Please come with an open mind and willing hands to participate in service to others.

Each of us bring with us into CUUF gifts and strengths we can offer to each other as well as our community. We will take some time this morning to find ways to identify them as well as discover where they may be needed in our congregational activities.
If we are in service to a greater good, what does that mean? How do we define the term greater good? Can we find a definition which allows us all to work towards a common goal?
What does it mean to be in service? In our mission and in our covenant, we have statements which call us to serve a greater good as well as our local and world communities. What shifts in priorities and expectations happens when we serve?
Our covenant calls us to “listen with kindness and respect,” but that can be difficult when we are asked to listen to words that are tinged with hate and disrespect. What can we learn from others about piercing through hateful words to the love that can be found in our shared humanity?
When we listen deeply, we use more than our ears and respond to more than the words. When we truly attend, we are using our entire being.
