Targeted Starting Date: August 31, 2015

Position: 10hours a week for 40 weeks

Hourly Pay: $14.85

Supervisor: Rev. Laura Shennum

This position will require a person to be present on most Sundays from 10am to Noon. In addition, there is an expectation for the staff person to attend a weekly staff meeting and be regularly available during the week. However, if needed some work can be done at home. A computer and work space will be provided at the church for the staff person.

Job Description:

The staff person will be responsible for the Religious Education program for the children of CUUF between Nursery and 5^th Grade. Duties include the following:

• Volunteer recruitment, training, and support

• Program and curriculum development

• Communication with families and congregation

• Materials and space preparation

• Record Keeping

• General administrative duties, such as budget monitoring and development

• Childcare coordination and supervision of childcare staff

• Professional Development

• Worship Collaboration with Minister

• Monthly Service Project Coordination

Candidates will have the following Qualifications, Experience and Education:

• Working understanding of religious education programs (preferably UU), philosophy and functions of a church, including the coordination and effective use of volunteers
• Competent in using Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Drive and Email
• Ability to work independently and self-direct; to work well with others, collaborate, teach, train, lead, and inspire
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Enjoy working with children
• Experience with supervising others

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in an education-related field
