YWCA North Central Washington is on a mission to eliminate racism and empower women.

Their housing department is the branch of our organization responsible for the most direct service. This location offers five housing programs, all with the goal of helping people achieve or maintain safe and stable housing.

YWCA’s Housing Programs:

  • Two on-site programs are available, including a 90-day emergency shelter for women and their dependents, as well as a 1-year transitional shelter program. Each program requires regular meetings with a case manager to work towards their individual goals.
  • A 6-unit permanent supportive housing location for folks with a disability and chronic homelessness.
  • The YWCA’s Housing First program is designed to assist individuals struggling with behavioral or mental health issues in maintaining their housing.
  • Emergency Rental Assistance program to help folks meet one-time shortfalls.

If people want to connect, the YWCA currently has a few opportunities available. Their location is actively recruiting board members; the thrift store has regular opportunities.

Upcoming Events for YWCA:

  • Thursday, June 19, 3-6 pm at Walla Walla Point Park, Juneteenth
  • Thrift Store Pop Up at Wenatchee Pride Festival on Saturday, June 21 at Memorial Park
  • Rainbow Camp, Fri.-Sun, August 22-24

Indigenous Rights and Reparation

The CUUF congregation has identified Indigenous Rights and Reparation as a priority this year; reflected in our Land Acknowledgement. “We are not here to “save the Indian,” or atone for our past actions, but to work together to address the issues that affect all of us, our shared future.” Here are some actions that can be the start of our individual work.
