- [New Building Design Task-Force](https://cascadeuu.org/building-updates/): WSDOT Appraisal Process The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has started the appraisal process for the property affected by the Sunset Highway project. Our approved WSDOT contact, Steve Clem, accompanied their staff during this process. Once the appraisal is complete and approved, WSDOT will make an offer to CUUF for “just compensation.” If negotiations fail, the matter will proceed to court to determine compensation. - [Joys and Sorrows](https://cascadeuu.org/worship-overview/joys-and-concerns/): In the 10:30am Traditional Service, there is a time for people to light a candle or drop a stone into a basin of water to share a joy or sorrow. This can be spoken by you, recorded in a book to be read by the minister or worship leader, or silently held in your heart as you light a candle. This time is followed by a pastoral prayer. This time is sacred in worship to acknowledge life events which impact each of us in a deep way.
